Cleaning or Hygiene

Our hygiene team is dedicated to the latest, most effective therapies for dental cleanings and periodontal therapy. They attend many continuing education courses and meet high standards for sterilization and disease control. Twice each year, you should visit us for a hygiene appointment.

Regular cleanings will deter decay, disease, and bad breath. We will gently remove plaque and hardened plaque, called calculus or tartar. If tartar builds up, it can promote gum irritation, which may lead to periodontal disease. Should we find that your gums are prone to gum disease or have been infected with gingivitis, we will recommend a more extensive cleaning.
